Business Analyst Services

  The Business Analyst services should be used to help you better understand your needs and ensure that your resources are being used in the most effective way to meet those needs.

Steps in the BA approach:

• Get to know your company, it's structure and the needs
• Purpose and Structure
• Capabilities and Resources
• Processes and Information Flows
• Common Understanding and Communication
• Establish the "root" need(s) and possible solutions
• Understand the issue(s) and root cause(s)
• Establish the "As Is" and "To Be" views
• Feasability, Relationships and Constraints
• Document and Communicate possible Solution results
• Build a Business Case for the Solution/Project (usually in conjunction with a Project manager)
• Develop Preliminary Scope and Stakeholders
• High-Level work breakdown
• Resource, Cost, Time Estimates and Milestones
• Establishing the Project Approach
• Develop Business Case for the Solution/Project
• Identify and Quantify the Benefits (Financial and Strategic)
• Identify and Quantify the Costs (Financial and Opportunity lost)
• Identify and Quanitfy the Risks (Types, Probability, Impact, Responses, Costs)
• Prepare the Business Case and ready it for presentation
• Present the Proposal, get "Go" or "No-Go" decision (done by stakeholder/project manager)
• Kick-off and Hand-off to Project Team (may or may not be involved)
• Follow-up at milestones and Project Completion (helps ensure the quality of the service)
